TASK

"AVTOLOGISTICS Ltd." announces the contest of paperworks among the students of higher educational establishments of a transport direction.

Terms of the contest:

The requirements for the participation in the contest "Kar`erA" are as follows:

1.to familiarize oneself with tasks of the contest and to choose one of them;
2.to prepare the competitive work, make it in the form of the presentation in Adobe Reader (pdf.);
3.to login and to present the work on the site www.avtologistika.com by December, 31, 2007.

The competitive tasks at choice are the following:

І. Practical task.

Objective: To develop a logistic project of delivery of new passenger cars from Craiova (Romania) to Moscow (Russia).

Basic data: new passenger cars in the number of 40 thousand per year in equal parts every month.

Dimensions of a car:

4250 cm long;
175 cm wide;
155 cm of height;
the type is sedan;
the average cost of one car is EUR 10.000,00.

Types of transport: motor-car, railway transport, river, sea transport and any their combination. All the cars must be transported with the specialized rolling stock, made for car transportation (RO-RO).

It is necessary:

to offer 3-4 solutions, which differ in the terms of delivery, combination of types of transport, cost of transportation;
to take into account all the elements of a logistic chain;
to specify terminals, ports or stations where the loading/unloading of cars in/from railway carriages will be done in case of the use of railway transport, to specify the railway code of the stations;
to describe the possibilities of ports to accept such ships/barges as RO-RO, as well as the terms of storage of cars in case of the use of any ports for reloading cars;
to define the cost of delivery for one delivered car;
to insure a load with zero franchise;
to take into account the real factor of loading in the different kinds of transport.

ІІ. Practical task.

Purpose: To define the necessity of importers of cars for services of the bonded warehouses (hereinafter referred to as the BW) on the territory of Ukraine.

It is necessary:

to examine the market of new passenger cars in Ukraine;
to define the optimum geographical places of location for the future BW;
to define the type of the warehouse, its area, number of places of location according to the method of car storage;
to make the list of services of BW, which are obligatory or necessary for the majority of potential customers;
to make the list of additional services related to BW;
to calculate the maximum cost of services of BW for one car, which would be acceptable for the majority of potential customers;
to make the list of companies-importers which would (with high probability) use the services of BW.

ІІІ. Theoretical work.

Theme: Tendencies in the development of motor-car industry.

It is necessary:

to give historical technical milestones and inventions which resulted in creation of a modern car in the form of presentation with text comments;
to expose ideas and inventions used to our time;
to express your opinion on the ideas and inventions which may result in creation of a car of tomorrow;
to try to imagine/describe/represent a car in the nearest future (in 5,10,20,50 years).

ІV. Theoretical work.

Theme: Ways and methods aimed at the environmental protection, which are used at the enterprises of motor transport.

It is necessary:

to examine the various aspects of functioning of a motor transport enterprise (exploitation, account, service, garage, office-management, HR management, IT and so on);
to expose the main ways and methods which can be applied to motor transport enterprises for the environmental protection;
to offer the new or unpopular as of today methods of the environmental protection;
to prove the financial expediency of measures aimed at the environmental protection, for motor transport enterprises.

The winners who will take the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be defined among all the participants of the contest. They will receive from "AVTOLOGISTICS Ltd." a monthly grant at the rate of UAH 1000, 700 and 500 accordingly during the next six months of studies. In addition to that, the other deserving works will be granted with a money award.

The winners will be proposed to pass the probation period at "AVTOLOGISTICS Ltd." with the possibility of subsequent employment.

On February 1, 2008 the results of the contest will be placed on the site www.avtologistika.com, and also they will be announced in the departments of educational establishments which took part in the contest. Grant holders will be informed on the results personally.
